Lacrosse Recruiting

Are you interested in playing lacrosse outside of high school?

Then lacrosse recruiting information is what you need.

No matter who you are, as long as you have athletic ability, you can be recruited.

Getting recruited into college is an excellent opportunity for high school players. Who would have thought that lacrosse could help with your tuition and admissions?

So... How do you get to be recruited by a top college or university?

You need great research.

Get Recognized

It doesn't matter how good you are, if the coaches don't see you, then they won't recruit you. Your best chance of being seen by a coach is to attend a lacrosse camp.

Ideally, you want to go to a college camp that you are interested in. For example: Say I wanted to go to Maryland, then I would go to their website, and sign up to go to their camp.

You should use this time as an opportunity to find out what you need to improve on. Don't be afraid to talk to the coaches and ask them what you need to do in order to get into that college.

Some camps even have nightly seminars on lacrosse recruiting. Take advantage of these opportunities!

Have fun, but don't be stupid. Remember that you are there to impress the coach. You should ask a lot of questions, and NEVER get caught slacking off.

And always remember... Grades are important. Believe it or not, high school grades are often the final decision maker of whether or not a college lacrosse coach wants you in their program.

How to Pick the Right School for You

Picking the right college to go to is one of the most important decisions of your life, so don't take it lightly. That said... Have some fun when you are picking your colleges.

Because, these are the three things that are most important to a good lacrosse player.

It is very important that you don't choose your school based on the coach. Coaches change schools almost every year, and it is rare that your coach will be with you for all four years of college.

Decide if you want a laid back lacrosse program or a very competitive program. Are you playing for fun or do you want to win a championship?

Answering these questions will help you pick what school is right for you.

In the end, the final decision is up to you. Lacrosse recruiting is just here to guide you along your path of lacrosse glory.

Let The Other Coaches Down Easy

The last step in lacrosse recruiting is to let the other coaches know what school you picked. Out of the whole process, this one can often be the worst.

You must let the coaches of the other "potential" colleges know that you did not choose them. It is very important that you DON'T lie to them.

Most coaches will accept your decision, and wish you luck. If you encounter a coach that seems overly bitter and is trying to talk you out of it, then you know that you made a good choice not playing for him.

Lacrosse recruiting can be the most fun, and most stressful experience of your life. If you ever get lost in all of the offers, then come back here and take a look at what you should do.

Good luck becoming a fantastic college lacrosse player!
